JSSS introduces article processing charges
Dear readers and authors of JSSS – the Journal of Sensors and Sensor Systems,
In its first six years, JSSS received an overwhelmingly positive response from the sensor research community, for which I am very grateful. AMA – the Association for Sensors and Measurement – has supported all papers submitted to date by waiving the article processing charges (APCs) so authors could publish free of charge. All papers currently being processed will enjoy that privilege. However, starting 01 July 2018, APCs will be levied for the publication of the final revised paper in the journal.
The APCs are categorized according to the submitted material, and authors are charged per published journal page. Thereby, authors can influence the price by using LaTeX instead of Word and by making the paper shorter. AMA will support expanded papers from the Sensoren and Messsysteme Conference, which will take place in Nuremberg, 26–27 June 2018.
